Bootup delay due to IP searching

I am trying to fix a delay in bootup which is apparently due to the
operating system (XP) searching for an IP address. The delay is about a
minute.

The delay occurs when the computer has a broadband connection.

I am aware there is a fix where an IP address and submask parameters are set
but I am not sure where they are set nor what IP and submask parameters to
use.

Any suggestions?

Cheers...Alan

Hi,

They would be set in the properties of the network connection (check net
connections in the control panel). What they would be depends on your
configuration, and what is supplied to your by your ISP.
