Boots into Safe Mode

NS

XP Professional boots into safe mode only. All applications work perfectly,
but always in safe mode.

you probably have a hardware conflict. Have you added any new hardware or
installed a new driver lately?

Try disabling hardware one by one until you can boot into normal mode.

If that doesn't work run msconfig from Start->Run (type msconfig) and turn
off everything that loads up with bootup. One by one turn them on and see
which one is causing the problem.

Try start/run/msconfig. Clear the tick mark in the section about
booting into safe mode (if it's there), then reboot. See if that
works!
