Booting up a usb keyboard

My M/board (ABIT kg7) recently crapped its Ps2 port so i
bought a usb keyboard to get around it 4 now, trouble is
i need a format BAD, but i cant as the keyboard is only
picked up after windows starts, also cant get into the
bios, is there a line i can add to a floppy to boot off
or anything

There should be an entry in the BIOS to Enable USB for Legacy.

You may wish to borrow another keyboard from a friend so that you can change
the BIOS entry!

The means of getting the USB keyboard recognized outside of Windows is in
the BIOS assuming your BIOS supports the function. If you can't get into
the BIOS, you can't select the option which as I recall is to turn on legacy
keyboard support or something similar.
