Booting problem

I have an old PC from the early 90's and Im having trouble booting. I opened
up the PC so that i could clean the interior. After this, i put everything
back in, and when i went to turn it on, it did the RAM count, but it didnt
beep. It remained running and the 2 floppy LED's are on constantly. What
could be the problem and what should i do to fix it. Thanks

No luck with IDE then?

Tall_Guy,

Check your ribbon cable to insure you have it properly connected to the
Floppy Drive and not turned around backward.

Well i tried it already but i still got no boot, what are some of the other
possibilities? I did remove the cpu when i went to clean it, but if it was
the cpu, then the ram count wouldnt have happened would it? Let me know.

Keep it as a door stop or a paper weight. Break down and buy a new one.

Check your ribbon cable to insure you have it properly connected to the

Yeah im certain that the cable is in correctly. the LED for the floppy isnt
on anymore as well. Any other possibilities SG?

What all did you remove to clean it? I see you said you removed the CPU. Is
it a Slot 1 perhaps? Remove the CPU and reset it as well as the Ram. If no
go remove the Floppy cables and try to boot. If still no go remove the
CD-Rom cable and try again. Does it have a AGP slot for the Video, if so
remove it and reset it.
