Booting from IDE-Secondary

Dear Community,

I'm using a VersaLogic Cobra SBC, Silicon Systems compact FLASH. During
bootup from an image on the FLASH, we see an error "Invalid BOOT.INI file,
and subsequently fails the NTDetect loader.

Bios drive assignment must be set to C: Ide 2/Sec Master since the FLASH is
on the secondary chain. We believe the device is formated correctly from
previous experience with another SBC we've used.

What we're not sure is how the Target Device Settings should look with
respect to the Boot ARC path. Right now its
"multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)". Is this correct? If so, what might we
be doing wrong with the device settings?

Thanks much,

Steve

Thank-you for the reply Sean.

On the primary chain (IDE-0/Primary) are two drives: a hard-drive and a
DVD/CD player. They will eventually go away and just the CF drive will be on
IDE-2/Sec.

The CF device was formatted with Windows XP Disk Management, which we've
been successful with before. We build two primary partitions, both FAT-32.
The first is set to active. We use EWF on the first partition that holds the
operating system and run our embedded application on the second partition.
Our application doesn't require much disk access, if any. This has worked
well for us in the past.

The difference as I see it is that the CF device is on IDE-2/Sec chain. Not
sure if we've set up the boot arc path right. For booting of IDE-2, do we
have the ARC correct?

Thanks.
