Booting CF

Guest

I am using a CF with NTFS format. This is the usual set up i use. The CF
comes from the manufacturer as being set to non-removable disk. The target
platform has 2 IDE channels. Here is the problem the CF adapter is not set
to either of these IDE channels. The CF is recognized as a USB storage
device, hence it is connected to a usb port and not an IDE channel. Is it
still possible to Boot even though not connected to an IDE channel?

Silvère,

Interesting comment. Were you referring to XP/XPe?
If so, would you mind to send me a link to the part of the help that describes XIP on NT systems?

Konstantin,

Are you still looking for XIP documentation? Any luck with it?

Slobodan

Slobodan,

Nope.
It is not that I am looking for the documentation. But I someone already found it I'd definitely appreciate any hints :)
(no time for hacking into the ntldr for more info on that)

PS. I am somewhere in the middle of the process you suggested the last time we talked about the problem. It just takes forever to
complete the paperwork.
