XP not booting
I'm trying to follow mcihaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall

bootcfg /list shows 3. 2 are there because I did bootcfg /rebuild and did
them wrong. So how do I remove them.

I don't know if the 3rd one is any good, because XP won't boot. In a normal
boot it acts like it's loading then I get a black screen. In safemode it
loads to mupsys then hangs.
So far:
I've copied the ntldr and ntdetect files from the XP cd. Tried a bootdisk
with ntldr, ntdetect, and a boot.ini file, but it tells me it's not a system
disk.

Repair is not an option, so I've been trying to follow the rest of the
directions.
Question 1: bootcfg /list shows 3. 2 are there because I did bootcfg /rebuild and did them wrong. So how do I remove them. Also what are the right answers the 2 questions that bootcfg / rebuild asks?

Have run chkdsk no problems.
Question 2: any ideas Goal is to try and run a repair, so XP will start
without losing files.
Question 3: When I try attrib it tells me my parameters are wrong (-h -r -s)

Thank You
