Bootable CD

I have copied my original XP Pro CD onto another CD. But coped CD does not
make the computer bootup. The original CD can. I just dragged and dropped the
files and folder from original CD to new one.

If I put copied CD into CD-ROM it won't come with option of installation but
original can.

Have I done anything wrong?

If you want a true copy of your original CD then you must use
the "Copy CD" function of your CD burner instead of dragging
and dropping files & folders.

Doesn't work that way. If you have a burning program ( Nero ....)
you need to do a disk copy. This type of copy doesn't concern itself
with files and folders but performs a Bit-by-Bit copy making a mirror
copy of the original.

Yes, dragging / dropping files from a bootable CD to another will not create
a bootable CD, just like dragging/dropping files from a bootable hard drive
to another will not make the other hard drive bootable. You have to use a
burning program that will make a copy of the CD.
