Boot up problem

when i turn my windows XP home edition on it stays black
and starts to beep over and over again and thats all it
does. What could be the problem
 
Does it even get to the Windows startup screen?
Do you see *anything* on the monitor?
Hard to say what could be causing the beeping - faulty memory, etc. You need
to find out what the beeps mean from your computer mfr....
