I have a Dell PC with Windows XP HE. When I turn on the PC the monitor
displays the logo screen, then the Windows XP screen but when it goes to the
XP welcome screen the monitor goes into standby mode. I can hear the pc
continue to boot all the way to desktop. What is causing my monitor to go
into standby so sudden?

Any replies are greatly appreciated as I'm at a loss with no PC.
Help!!

Thanks in advance

Hi Romac,

Did .NET Framework get installed recently? Does it happen in Safe Mode?
If you get into Windows, click Start, Run, type control userpasswords2
and click OK. Uncheck "Users must enter..." and click OK. This will
bypass the Welcome screen. Does Windows load correctly?

If not, try using System Restore and go back to a date when it worked
properly.

Report back,

I don't think it's a resolution issue. If it worked okay in Safe Mode,
you probably have a buggy display driver. Go to the manufacturers site
and see if you can update it.

Were you able to change the login? Does it still go blank?
