i want to set up my computer so it boots up automatically every morning.

i read somewhere that if i adjust my bios i could do it from there and not
have to download anything

i have a xp home edition version 2002; dell inspirin 16400; intel core duo
if that helps

There is nothing you can download to do this, when the PC is off it is
impossible for Windows or any application to turn it on. Check your BIOS
settings for an auto power on option, if you don't have one your out of
luck.

AS previously stated, if the BIOS does not have the automatic boot
options, then there is nothing you can do if the XP PC is shudown.
However, all may not be lost! Look for info on how to configure XP to
go into "Stand-by" mode. Stand-by mode does not completely shutdown
the XP but places it into a power-saving mode (by shutting down most
applications) and allows XP to "resume" where it "left off" before the
Stand-by mode.
