my friend has 2 diff hard drives one with 98 on it and one
with 2000 opn it. He wants to add the 2000 hard disk into
the computer. He tried and got boot errors. How do you
modify it so that he can boot off one or the other. Which
one should be master which one slave?

Hi Joe,

You'll find you can't just slap in a disk with 2000 on it and have it
boot. 2000 knows where it was born and doesn't like playing elsewhere.
You'll need to boot from the Win2000 CD and do a repair install so 2000
can have a new look around at it's hardware etc.

You can do this sort of thing only if you use a third party
boot manager that lets you hide the two drives from each
other. XOSL will do it - it's free.
