Boot step

Hi to all,

I've a single question.

I've just to build a new computer and I would like to install Windows 2K Pro.

This computer has only Sata hard disk and, as IDE parts, CDrom reader and
DVD burner.

Is it possible to install Windows on a Sata disk and is it possible to boot
on this same Sata HD?

Thanks for your reply

There was a post on here a few months ago saying yes, but you need to
use the SATA drivers at install.

I'll try and dig it out and re-post it.

Thanks for the reply.

In fact, I had a hardware problem. The power set didn't work propely and the
Sata disk wasn't in function. So after glanced to the BIOS, I've seen that
the system didn't recognise the disk and so, the Win 2K install process
couldn't install inything on a ghost Sata hard disk.

So now, I've detected the responsable part of this situation and know by
your reply that normally it's possible to boot on a STATA disk on which I
have install the OS first.

Thank for your lights.
