When I start my Windows XP pro computer I get the message

Windows could not start because of a computer disk
hardware configuration problem.
Could not read from the selected boot disk. Check boot
path and disk hardware.
Please check the Windows documentation about hardware disk
configuration and your hardware referance manuals for
additional information.

So I think I need to restore my boot track. How do I do
that? The machine has two physical hard drives the first
is partitioned into C: Windows ME that boots fine and D:
XP pro boots fine. But neither see the G: drive where the
third boot record, my default, is. Naturally that is the
one I need because it has all my data.
Thanks,
Chas

I think there's a few ways to go about this. The first is
by opening the command prompt, which will probably be at
C:\ You'll want to type G: for a new line, then 'fixmbr'
Also, you could open the boot.ini, make sure it is set
for three partitions properly.
