Boot problem...

Today, when I started up my computer (Fujitsu-Siemens,
Win2000, 256 MB RAM, 2,4 GHz P4, 60 + 120 GB HDD) it
hanged up. It passed the first screen, which shows the
Fujitsu-Siemens logo and the options F2=Setup and F12=Boot
Menu. After that Windows normally loads, but it hangs and
after a few seconds the screen turns black. I can't press
F8 to get the safe mode menu. Anyone know-how?

Sounds like it is not even processing the MBR. There is a good chance of
a drive problem or file system problem.

Boot from 2000 CD into recovery console. Run chkdsk /p to fix file
system problems. Then run fixmbr to write a new MBR.
