Boot in DOS

I need to boot up in DOS mode to run a utility program that won't run in
windows. I made a DOS floppy boot disk, but when I boot from that floppy, I
don't have access to my C drive or D drive (a second hard drive). When I try
to access the C:\ or D:\ the message I get is "the system cannot find the
drive specified. The utility program is on the D drive. How do I get access
to the C: and D: drive in DOS? I'm using Windows XP professional version
2002, Service Pack 1.

What file system does C and D use? If it's NTFS then your out of luck. DOS
does not know what NTFS is.

Although that latter statement is true, it's not necessarily true
that he's out of luck. There is third-party software that can add
NTFS support to DOS--for example, a product called NTFSDOS.
