Boot from Network?

I think your best option is to get an external USB hard drive and at the c
prompt do a copy command to get you important files transferred to the USB
file and the use the restore cd. If you have a second hard drive then copy
to it but if it was part of the original computer config then a restore
install might wipe it clean.
What message do you get when you try and boot your machine? I think this is
where you need to start.
