Bookmark manager for Mozilla

Does anyone know of a bookmarks manager for Win32 Mozilla v1.7? I find
the provided manager very primitive and buggy.

What do you mean with primitive and what with buggy?
IOW: what doesn't it do (well) that you want to do?

(I use it with the "Flat Bookmark Editing" extension.)

Vic,
What problems in particular are you having? I get along with it
just fine.

John,

The first problem I have is really a design deficiency IMO. When you
do a "Search" in the Bookmarks sidebar, the "found" bookmarks do not
have their folders indicated. There is no way to determine where the
"found" bookmarks are located, so I can't make a decision to delete,
move, etc. This is particularly a problem if duplicate bookmarks are
found. If I delete a "found" bookmark from the search results, and
then do another search for it, it will again be "found", until I close
and reopen Mozilla

The second problem is a bug. When you right-click on a bookmark and
select "Move Bookmarks", the bookmark is not moved, it's just copied.

I have had these problems with versions 1.5, 1.6, 1.7 which is my
current version. Are you able to duplicate these, or am I
hallucinating (wouldn't be the first time)?

Interesting. And I experience the same thing. However, I just created
a "test" bookmark and then closed the bookmark manager. Then I
reopened it, did a search for the bookmark and when I tried to delete
it from the results listing I noticed two things:

1. You're right, there is no listing of the bookmark's location in the
heirarchy of the bookmarks.

2. The "Delete" button is disabled in the "Search results" window.
The second problem is a bug. When you right-click on a bookmark and
select "Move Bookmarks", the bookmark is not moved, it's just copied.

On my system, the bookmark was actually moved, not copied. I'm currently
running 1.7.1. I know the current version is 1.7.2, but I just can't bring
myself to reinstall the whole program just for a small security fix.

Results above. Otherwise, I found this one:

http://www.netsignet.net/

but it's primarily for IE: "Complete importation and exportation
tools. (Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, CSV)
You can impot your bookmarks from Internet Explorer, Netscape and
Opera and you can export the NetSignet files to those browsers and to
CSV format."

You can use AM-Deadlink:

http://aignes.com/deadlink.htm

to sort your bookmarks by name, note any duplicates and their
heirarchical location and then delete the one you don't want. However,
the browser must be closed to do this. But it *does* work.

Here is the Snapfiles "URL-Organizers" page:

John, at one time you used the old Netscape 4X like I did. I tried Mozilla 1.5 but
it was very slow loading on my P166 and mainly- the GUI was clunky, like Netscape
3.04, so I dumped it. Netscape 7.1 was large, and no real advantage to me over 4.79.

You are now using Mozilla, I moved to Firebird, then Firefox and Thunderbird.
Except for a few issues, I'm happy with FF and TB as my defaults in W98SE.

Did you consider them and why did you wind up with Mozilla?

No, I never really considered them. I like Mozilla's webpage composer
module for quick jobs. Other than that, I just like doing one simple
download. I have the room and a newer computer.
