Bogus out of memory errors

D

Daniel Prince

After my computer has been running for about five days, I always start
getting error messages. Agent and other programs say that they do not
have enough memory to do what I want and Windows says that delayed
writes have failed.

I have a gig of ram installed and StatBar always says I have over 500
megs free. I have tried shutting down several programs and I still get
the error message. I have to restart Windows to eliminate the error
messages.

Does anyone know what is causing this and what I can do about it? Thank
you in advance for all replies.

You can try disabling write caching on the drive.

start/run, type: diskmgmt.msc
rightclick the drive icon, and Properties
Hardware tab, highlight drive, Properties button
Policies tab
uncheck box for write caching. (note warnings)
