bluetooth??

would blue tooth work if i was upstairs on my laptop and my main p.c was
downstairs.
would they comunicate ?

or does the dongle have to have line of sight...ie can it go through walls?
 
Bluetooth operates at 2.4 GHz and is omnidirectional, that is, the transmitter and receiver do not need to be in an unobstructed
line-of-site path (such as IrDa) so it can work through walls and floor, same as your cordless phones. Because of its spread
spectrum technology, interference is minimized from other devices operating nearby in this band.

And it works from a distance of 10 metres...any good Bluetooth devices i
should look for?
