ok, i've been trying to play an online game, but i keep getting a blue screen
with an error message, and have to reboot my comp again. i've managed to find
out that its a hardware problem and probably need to reformatt since its an
older computer... umm... how do i reformat my comp?

Reformatting and reinstalling just to fix an error condition is pretty
drastic action. Sort of like capital punishment for jaywalking.

What is the exact error message that you are getting on the blue
screen? There may be a simpler and less drastic method of fixing it.

Also if it is an actual hardware problem then reformatting is almost
certainly not going to do anythig about it and you may therefore have
the same error problem again.
