Blue Screen??

I have just upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro and it said I was completed but when it boots up I go to a dark blue screen and I can't do anything. I would really like to be able to keep the files on my computer already. How do I do that? Is there some way to transfer them to another computer and then "clean" install Pro? Please help, I'm desperate!

Is there a Stop Code on the Blue Screen? If so could you please post it
here. With that your problem could isolated.

There is nothing on the blue screen but the mouse. I can move the mouse around but nothing else loads up at all.
