blue screen, with unmountable boot volume

hi, i started up my computer the other day and it went
into a blue screen saying "UMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME" and it
wouldn't let me access my computer, could you please help
me to get rid of this problem without having to buy any
thing new, as my friend has told me it might need a new
harddrive which i really dont have the money for!

Read about the Recovery Console
From there you should be able to fix this
