blue screen stop error, no info in technet found: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

Have had this error occasionally, at odd times, doesnt
seem to be related to one app or piece of hardware
although I suspect its a loose or faulty sound
cable/chip/circuit (possibly the audio cable from the cd
drive)

I get a blue screen stop error d1, "IRQL NOT LESS OR
EQUAL"
no info in technet found. Here's all the info from the

<note this dump file does not exist. the blue screen never
finishes saving the dump file. I cant wait 5+ hours for a

The error usually has the specific file name at the end of the error, I
doubt it's a faulty cable, more likely a faulty driver.
