Blue Screen Stop due to USBPORT.SYS

U

Uncle John

I have had a stop error a couple of times recently, unfortunately when I
have been away from my PC. It is possible that the system disk was
defragging when the stop occurred.
The error message is
Driver IRQL Not Less Or Equal (stop code 0X0000001)
The suggested source from Microsoft is
USBPORT.SYS
There are no clues from the event log. The mini dump lists some Creative
sound files.

I have checked the file which resides in windows\system32\drivers with SVC
and it is reported OK.

Does anyone have suggestions?
