I recently observed the same problem that you have described. When starting
my computer a blue screen is displayed where chkdsk is run and ,I think,
chkdsk /f however my computer simply restarts and I get back to the same blue
screen.

I ran a the standard chkdsk and I restored my computer to an earlier date
with no affect.

Have you had any luck?
