Blue Screen of Death while defragging

Hello !

I have this problem - Whenever I defrag my computer, I
get a Blue Screen of Death at about 45%.
This happened both in Windows Defrag util, and in
Diskeeper.

On a side note, my drive is badly fragmented,

I have 22% free space(17 out of 76 GB).
39% volume fragmentation.
50% data fragmentation.

Those numbers don't tell me much, I'm afraid, but I
suppose they could help.

Any ideas on what's going on ? What could I do ?

Thanks !

Ark,

Blue screen crashes can only be caused by a hardware issue or a driver that
"isn't playing well with others".

I'd suggest booting into Safe Mode and try defragmenting from there. If it
works, you'll know that it is a driver issue.

suggestion - d/l a free copy of PerfectDisk6 and give it a shot. At the
least, it will probably clear up your partitions/drives. Then, if you want
to, you can go back to using the built in defragger if you want.
