In these days I updated my vista as always.
Anyway a blue screen of death appeared at new restart and it is
impossible to launch Windows.
Therefore I restored my system and I forbade to install August
updates.
Now it works.

Suspected updates are:
Protection Update Windows Vista KBxxxx ( 9 items)
Security Update .NET Framework Service SP1, SP2 and Server
Undesired mail filter ( Windows Mail )
Compatibility Internet Explorer 8
Protection for Internet Explorer 8
Tool to remove malware - August 2010

They are 14 items, released 10th August. Some of these are itemized
here:

Anybody had troubles with Vista updates in August 2010?

I suspected my graphic card driver could be accomplice of my friend
BSOD.
I have a Nvidia Geforce 9500M GS 512 MB on Acer notebook.
Anyway, despite I have NirSoft BlueScreen View, it doesn't save BSOD's
message.
Therefore I am not able to know the real cause of BSOD

I had some serious problems with these updates, I'm not sure which one. All
the updates were installed fine but next time I rebooted my computer I had
BSOD when Vista was booting up before the login page. It said the ancient
chant "UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME" with some hex codes etc.

All the other modes for OS (fail safe etc) also ended up with the same BSOD.
Bootmgr and other tricks didn´t offer any solution for this. Luckily I
managed to salvage crucial files to an external HD with the help of Knoppix
and then I had to restore the system with recovery disks (OEM version of
Vista...).

The second round with these updates went fine though.

My computer is Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Xa-2528 with 64-bit Vista (OEM)
