The installation goes fine until the second reboot, at that point I get the
blue screen of death with following message.
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

0X0000000A (0X000000000_0X00000001B_0X000000001_0X81829194)

AMD 64_X2 4800
Asus A8N32_SLI DELUXE
3GB DDR 400 PC 3200
XFX GeForce 6800 extreme

You didn't mention which version you're installing but.... remove 1Gb of
memory and be sure you have the other 2Gb in the correct slots. Are you
using a RAID configuration?

If you're loading up Vista x64 on a SATA drive on that Asus board - I think
you're having an nForce4 driver problem and need to load in a new driver at
the F6 point in the install.

Hey nelson if you still have the problem installing vista, i think it is due
to your RAM.
just read the MS article: 0X0000000A and you will be all set.

you probably should consider getting a Mac with these sorts of errors.
Microsoft clearly didn't have Vista ready to ship, but they did it
anyway. OSX is the one to beat anyway, so save yourself the trouble
going forward and just move on up to a Mac. All your legacy code will
still run, but you'll get the more modern software of OSX which is the
gold standard in computing today.

Sure wish you would go over and help those poor souls in the Mac group -
they need it. If Mac's were so great - more people would be using them but
obviously they are not.

I did look at Mac's last year when I was considering replacing a few
workstations. Walked into the Apple store and was greeted (if that's what a
shuffle and a "kin-I-help-ya" from a wet nose, arrogant salesperson is).
After he went on about how bad my old workstations were and Windows - he
really turned me off. Really impressed the hell out of me - he did.

Oh yes, and the fact that I would have to replace over $8K in CAD software
to get the Mac versions wasn't really comforting after seeing the inflated
prices on the Apple hardware.

But thanks for letting us know that Apple has now recruited trolls to sell
their systems - they do need all the help they can get. Hell, even M$
invested $150M in them awhile back - or was that the Bill & Melinda
Foundation making a charitable contribution.............I forget....;-)

I had the same problem. In my case the problem was that I had installed a
Hauppauge 500MCE and a 150MCE in my computer. When removing the 150MCE from
it before starting the installation, it worked fine. After the installation I
have reinserted it again and all works.

If you don't have this hardware it could be some other hardware so my tip is
to remove alle not necessery hardware before starting the installation and
afterwards insert it one by one back.
