Blue error screen, help!!

About every hour or so my PC keeps bringing up the blue screen and shutting
down (I have Windows XP Media Edition).
I keep getting a message very similar to this:

Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xF85272CC, 0xF88C8990, 0x00000000)
*** MpFirewall.sys - Address F85272CC base at F8525000, DateStamp 3df0c071

Does this mean I need to re-install my firewall or is it something more than
that? Any advice would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

how about you switch off your firewall and see if it still happens (ps
firewalls do little or nothing to protect your system):

if it does - it's not that

if it doesn't - it's that!

Yes, re-install your firewall or select a different firewall.
Why not use the inbuilt WinXP firewall?

Yes Uninstall and reinstall the Firewall, especially if it was the one go
*Black and RED *M**, also Scan for Malware/Grayware on your computer and
Back up your Data on removable Storage CD/DVD, USB, this is not good sign to
start with.
Look for error in the event viewer and if it all connected with McAfee try
to seek help from Mcafee Help and Support and tell them about this behavoiur
they will give a batch to stop or you will get upgrade Offer???.

If the OP uses a dial-up connection then having a firewall
is essential to keep out hackers.
