Blogger.com posts and FPSE

I am a FP2002 user with a question about integrating a blog post generated
via blogger.com into my website.

My issue is that blogger.com updates postings via FTP and my concern is that
updating an FPSE-enabled website via FTP will "break the extensions",
something which is often cautioned against.

I tried doing this blogger thing several years ago and from what I remember,
the suggestion given then was to establish a sub-web where the blog updates
would be directed, and this would mean the server extensions would not be at
risk. At this point, however, I'm not sure that 1) my recollection is
correct and/or that 2) that advice was valid to begin with.

Searching the forum for "blogger" I just find some old posts circa 2005-2006
and nothing that addresses this issue in particular. Thanks for any advice
you can give me.

The advice was correct, use of FTP will corrupt the FP SE
By creating a subweb (which you should not try to open in FP after FTPing) you are protecting the root web FP SE from FTP corruption
