Hi-

Somewhat recently, we have stopped being able to access a specific site: Army.Mil getting the message Cannot Find Server or DNS Error message. Running XP prof. and IE6 . We are not sure where our problem lies.
I have tried cleaned out Cookies, Temp Internet Files, worked with Internet Options, checked the Admin Tool - Local Sec Admin for option for System Cryptology and FIPS (what ever this is). Run Ad Aware, banged head on desk. I can't get access to this site.
We can not download the IE 6.0 patch because our system says it has not been authenticated by Windows ??! Any advice?

DA,
"Army.Mil getting the message Cannot Find Server"
There are several adware programs that modify your Registry settings.
One of the side-effects of this is not accessing certain domains (.mil)

Reconfigure Ad-Aware for Full Scan:
Please update the reference file following the instructions here:
http://www.lavahelp.com/howto/updref/index.html

Launch the program, and click on the Gear at the top of the start screen.

Click the "Scanning" button.
Under Drives & Folders, select "Scan within Archives".
Click "Click here to select Drives + folders" and select your installed hard
drives.

Under Memory & Registry, select all options.
Click the "Advanced" button.
Under "Log-file detail", select all options.
Click the "Tweaks" button.

Under "Scanning Engine", select the following:
"Include additional Ad-aware settings in logfile" and
"Unload recognized processes during scanning."
Under "Cleaning Engine", select the following:
"Let Windows remove files in use after reboot."
Click on 'Proceed' to save these Preferences.
Please make sure that you activate IN-DEPTH scanning before you proceed.
