Blocked Programs

After noticing I had 60+ processes running at startup, I went to msconfig and
disabled some programs from automatic startup.

I now get a popup message informing me that Windows is blocking some startup
programs. None of the programs are necessary for Windows to start up.

My question is Can I do something to stop this annoying popup from showing?

Thanks

Don

It's not windows but Defender. Ask it. I have Defender disabled but there is
a dialog in it that allows you to unblock programs. It just wants you to
tell it that the program is a legit one.

I don't use it because
a/ It said one of my files that I wrote, was a virus. I ended up deleting
the file just to shut defender up as the warnings were shitting me and it
was less clicks to delete the file than shut the idiot program up. This
means it has ONLY caught files that there is nothing wrong with. Remember
you can't trust a computer to make decisions. Computers are stupid.

b/ In earlier versions didn't use standard window elements (the people who
owned it before MS wrote their own menuing code) so menus didn't work
according to Windows standards, specifically drag down didn't work (press
and hold LMB over top level menu item, drag pointer to down to menu item on
sub menu, and release LMB). I won't use programs, like that virus called
Nero, that won't work as proper windows programs. Defender screwed up, it
was designed wrong, so I conclude that it is likely to have other wrong
design choices, and never gets another chance with me.

PS Defender is so stupid it errors rather than starting it's associated
service. Not prome time material.

stopping a program from running using msconfig is not the most correct way.
usually each program under its properties/options has an option to start with windows which can be unchecked.
its best to use these options to prevent the program from loading at startup.
