Blockage of upgrade to XP because of HPT 366 Ultra DMA Controller

Anyone know how I can get around this? Tried removing the
drivers but XP senses them on restart? Can anyone help?
 
Move the Hard Drive to a Regular IDE channel. Primary or Secondary. From
there you can install XP
Once installed you can load the HP 366 drivers and move the hard drive
back . I have done this many
times with my HP 370 Controller.
