98 to XP

I am trying to upgrade to XP from 98 SE. However, during
the installation I get a blocking issues statement. The
message is "Your computer has hardware devices that
prohibit you from upgrading to Windows XP". The device in
questions is a Highpoint HPT366 Ultra DMA Controller.

What do I need to do to upgrade to XP given the above
circumctance?

Thank you in advance for any advice.
 
If there is not an XP compatible driver from Highpoint for that controller
then it will need to be replaced.
