HELP! After trying to download an HP driver and stopping in the middle
because it had locked up, the hourglass icon has mysteriously begun to blink
beside the cursor arrow...Can you help me correct this?

This is a mouse control,
Go to the Control panel and click on your mouse.
You can select any number of mouse pointers.

The mouse control doesn't change anything. I believe that a an application
is running in the background but I don't know how to find or identify it. I
think that the flashing hourglass just means that some activity is taking
place that maybe got created when I stopped the download from HP?????
Thanks for the suggestion though...any other ideas?

You probably have a program that didn't get completely downloaded.
Have you tried shutting down completely so Windows can end the program ?
This should work but leave the computer off for at least 30 seconds before
restarting.

I installed the driver from a disk. I haven't downloaded anything since
then. The disk was "lost" and then found after I had begun the download.
Everything is working as usual except for the "busy" signal from the cursor
and hourglass.
