Constant blinking as if reloading

I’m not quite sure where to start with everything that seems to be going
wrong, so I’ll start with Word. Almost every time I open word, the arrow
constantly turns into an hourglass like it’s try to load something over and
over. The insertion point then jumps around the page randomly, and it’s
really hard to type. My language bar on the main taskbar of the computer
constantly blinks as well, and now the “All Music†panel on Windows Media
Player flashes constantly too. Everything is more annoying than anything, and
I’m guessing they’re all related, but I’d like to stop it before whatever it
is corrupts any more programs!
