Bleed through

I have an HP media pc. The speaker system I have attached is a Cambridge
Soundworks 2.1 system. I can hear what sounds like a radio station playing
faintly when I don't have any other data being sent to the speakers
(presumably, the radio bleed is still there when I play an internet stream,
but I can't hear it). I thought that it might be unshielded speaker wire
acting as an antenna, but when I plugged the speakers into another pc, I
don't hear the bleed. Any thoughts on where the bleed may be coming from?

Thanks

You moved the speakers to the other PC, I guess. Might be location or some
other piece of hardware on you machine.

There have bveen stories over the years about people with Gold fillings and
Braces picking up Radio Stations in their mouths. I knew of a person who had
bed springs that would pick up a local station. Crytal radios are simple to
make and there are many subsitutes, it could be a fluke that the internal
wiring is tuned to that peticular frquency and/or the wires out of the back
of the CPU. You could try adding a length of wire to the speakers or try
unplugging one wire at a time to see which one eliminates the station and
then either makingthat wire longer or shorter.
Good luck
