blaster

when my computer was infected with the blaster worm, i was
too slow and stupid to spot it. somehow got rid of it, but
it damaged my computer badly and i thought it was a good
idea to reinstall windows xp. setup stoped halfway and a
message shows up every time i restart my computer saing:

THE SIGNATURE FOR WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION UPGRADE IS
INVALID. THE ERROR CODE IS 426. THE SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN
RESTARTED
in safe mode it says:

file hal.dll is missing or corrupted

anyone with some help please?
