Blaster Worm Fix 823980 on XP Home Edition

One of my users brought me a Sony laptop running XP Home
Edition with the blaster worm. I removed it and applied
fix 823980. I also went to windows update and found 15
critical fixes including 823980.Each time I go to Windows
Update, it says I need to install 823980. I checked
windows and I have a log file for it but it doesn't look
normal. I am including the first portion of it. My
question: is the 823980 fix installed? If not, what do I
do to get it installed?

This is not the appropriate fix for this issue. There is a specific fix for
the Blaster patch. See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Fixes, Windows Update -
Prompts to Install Hotfix KB823980.
