Blank Windows & Links in IE6

Am running IE6 and Windows2K on a 1.6GHz P4 w/1gb PC133 RAM.
Just about a month back, started losing links and pop-ups,
redirects, etc in IE6... all I get is a blank window. Funny
side effect is that I get a button in centre of my bottom
menu bar that says, specifically, "Micorsoft..." and NOT
"Microsoft..." as it used to do. The misspelling makes me
think that I have picked up an uncatalogued virus, but my
NAV2003 does not pick it up.

Anyone have a solution? I'm stuck using Netscape 6, but my
preferred browser is IE6.

If you're still having problems with the pop-ups
remaining blank, try this:
1. Quit all programs that are running.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
4. When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll
succeeded"
message, click OK.


If this does not resolve the problem, repeat steps 2
through 4 for each of
the following files (in step 3, replace Urlmon.dll with
each of the file
names below):
Shdocvw.dll
Msjava.dll
Actxprxy.dll
Oleaut32.dll
Mshtml.dll
Browseui.dll
Shell32.dll (Windows XP and Windows 2000 only)
