IE6 with XP

I've just noticed "again" If I go to a link on a web site,
say to the "Help" in MSN email, I get the window open up
with a white background and text up the top
saying "Loading..." and does nothing. I've tried ALL the
re-loading of DLL's in Microsoft's Knowledge Base Article
281679 with no effect.
I've tried turned of my Norton Internet Security, cleared
any spyware..etc. PLEASE HELP I've been on this for days
without any luck.

I had this same effect back some time ago which I cured
with a simple change to something?..... can't think how I
cured it, I can only assume since I've updated windows
it's put it back ..Doh! Please can you reply to my email
address, as I can never find this original posting..

From http://www.fjsmjs.com/OE/nolinks.htm

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type:

regsvr32 urlmon.dll

3. Click OK, and then click OK again when you receive the following message:

DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded.

4. If that doesn't fix it, see this article:

http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#new_window

You can also try this:

Go to Start/run, and type SFC (SFC /SCANNOW for Win2K or WinXP).
Choose 'Extract One File From Installation Disk'.
Type oleaut32.dll, not worrying about its location. Then, click Start.

Next to 'Restore From', type in or browse for the file's location, which is
probably in the Win98 folder of your installation CD-ROM (typically
D:\Win98), or in your Windows\Options\Cabs folder, as the case may be.

Then, next to 'Save File In', enter C:\Windows\System, and click OK. System
File Checker looks for the file, saves it as you requested, and then tells
you that 'the file has been successfully extracted'.

You may need to reboot.

Hi, Have tried the DLL's and got the reply back all ok..
so it't not that!!

What I've since found by playing around is that looking at
the properties, the URL address in the blank window is not
all there... I'm
getting "http://by7fd.bay7.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-
bin/dasp/loading.asp" instead
of "http://by7fd.bay7.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-
bin/dasp/loading.asp" which I looked at on another PC...
If I copy this into my faulty PC's explorer, it does goto
the page, so the error is it's not seeing the full
address!!!
