blank screen after login

We're currently running Windows small business server 2003, with
approximately 15 computers on the network, all running Windows proffesional
xp or 2000. A user who has never had any problems in the past, logged into
his machine had no errors, his background screen appeared and that was it. No
start menu, no icons. You are able to access the task manager through
ctrl+alt+delete but from my knowledge everything looks good. I logged him out
and tried logging in as admnistrator, which worked, within a few seconds I
had icons and a start menu. I logged in as my personal login (on his machine)
and it worked but I have administrative rights, so I then logged in as 2
regular users in the office and both of them had the same problem, completely
blank screen. Any ideas on what could be going on? Any suggestions???

TIA!

Sounds like the \default user profile is corrupt or has incorrect
permissions. Try a new user with and without local administrative rights.
