one login, 2 folders in Docs & Settings

My dad called me to help him figure out why his desktop is suddenly all
wrong (missing shortcuts, browser bookmarks gone, etc) after windows 2k did
an update. I logged into his machine and found that although he has only one
login for himself ("Richard") somehow there are 2 folders under Documents
and Settings. One is "Richard" and the other is "Richard.RBB" which wasn't
there before. The desktop files he's seeing are the ones in the new folder
"Richard.RBB." I have no idea how this could happen and no idea how to fix
it. I had him shut down and log back in as he normally does (same OS on same
computer for a few years now so this is not a new system) and he's still
getting the "Richard.RBB" settings. What can be done to get back so that his
"Richard" login is using the "Richard" folder and what might he have done to
cause this?

Thanks,

Keith

Never mind. I found a similar post ("duplicate" files under Documents and
Settings) from a couple of months ago that should help me solve this.
