Why are the pictures missing or blocked in the body of my received emails?
In the body of the email the pictures are blank with a "X" in the top left
hand corner of the picture frame. However they are shown as attachments to
the email. This is not a consistent thing, Some emails come through with
pictures in the body of the email. I am using windows vista mail. My
computer has Windows Defender as well as Norton Internet Security. Can some
one help me figure this out.?

The images may not have been properly encoded to show in the email. It
would depend upon the sender's email program and whether the message was
forwarded or not. In addition, Norton has major incompatibilities with
WinMail and should be uninstalled to prevent such. See point 3 here and the
section on WinMail: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

I have Norton internet security, no problems with it on my system, source of
problem must lie elsewhere

Whether a Norton incompatibility will show up is pretty much hit or miss,
something like playing Russian Roulette.

The same thing is happening to me. I have WM and Norton's 360. I read what
you wrote to Ron, is there anyway that I could code something on my computer
to correct this?

Thanks
