Blank Monitor, Can't see my computer!

Last night after my computer went into sleep mode, I wasn't able to see
anything in my monitor. I restarted the system several times and the monitor
was not displaying anything. The orange light would just turn on.
Well I thought it could be the monitor so I tried a different monitor, same
thing happened. So I thought it could be the video card. So I switched it
out and still nothing.
All I can assume is that somehow my display settings got changed and I can't
see anything. But then how do I fix it if I can't see anything?

Please help!

(Oh by the way I'm on my laptop writing this)

Restart your computer and hit f8 until you are in safe mode, then you can go
to your settings and adjust them.
