Blank Document is not "blank"

Whenever I now open a blank document in Word 2000, it opens with a word that
I must have inadvertently typed and left on it and it got saved.

How can I delete this so that I can now open a blank document that is truly
"blank"?

Thanks

Perhaps you have overwritten your Normal.dot with a file containing that
word. You need to open Normal.dot to fix it. If you don't know where to find
your Normal.dot, look under Tools>Options>File locations and it will tell you
where to find your User templates.

When you find the file, be careful to do 'open' and don't just doubleclick
it, because that will create a new document instead of opening the template.
