Blank Desktop / Missing Task Bar

My PC when it boots up there is only an Explorer Window with My Documents
Open. No desktop, No task bar, no nothing. Cannot right click on desktop.
Have to run everything from task manager. Explorer is running. Rerunning
explorer has no effect. All profiles effected. Tried your tools and no
effect. Any clues on how to fix this?

Have you tried the Microsoft Knowledge Base? Put in 'blank desktop' and
there are quite a few answers.

Yes I tried all that. The one article that comes close is 2000 only and
talks about renaming a dll which did not help and making sure you have not
extended your desktop onto another monitor which is not a factor in my case
with only one video card.

Is it standalone or in a domain?

Did it happen suddenly? I notice you say it affects all profiles, so
that means I guess you have mulitiple users? What happens if you delete
one user profile, does it still persist?

Have you put on SP2, does this link help?

Does it happen in safe mode? Are you clear of viruses and spyware?

Happened suddenly after reboot. Any and all profiles including new ones. SP
2 and tried reinstalling SP 2. Link does not help cause mine happens in safe
mode as well.

In corp domain. Clear of virus and spyware. Norton updated twice daily.
