Blackberry Professional Software in SBS 2003 Environment

OK, I've been reading up installing the BPS software (Not BES) in an SBS
2003 environment. Some have said they have had success with installing the
BPS directly on the SBS 2003 and if you have ISA it is still possible BUT
there are more configuration issues. I have also read though where BPS on
the SBS 2003 server may break some other things such as WSUS. What I don't
need is to get BPS up and running for my 2 users who have BB devices only to
kill the rest of the server for everyone else. My next thought was install
BPS on an XP machine that is a client of the network and if the XP client
gets hosed who cares.

1. Anyone done this?
2. Any "gottcha's" to look out for?
3. Any links to instructions/lessons learned by doing the install this way?

I have walked through the 4 BPS video tutorials at RIM on the install and it
seems pretty straight forward and I can adapt the tutorial to me using an XP
client.... but they geared the tutorials on installation directly on the
Exchange 2003 Windows Server box. No problem if I had a spare Windows 2003
box but this is a single server SBS 2003 installation with only 2 BB users.

Thoughts?

Thanks!!!!

Hi Richard,

You will probably get more info at:
http://www.blackberryforums.com/

While I have installed it on WS2003, we did have an issue with Java (not
mentioned in any documentation as even being required). For some
reason, BPS installed Java 5.11. I updated to 6.11 and removed 5.11 and
BPS stopped working. It had to be installed again. Stupid to code for
an older version.
