Black & White won't run anymore

I used to have Black & White installed on my computer some
time ago, but got bored with it and uninstalled it.
Recently I wanted to play it again, installed it, and now
it won't run. A window pops up for 2-3 seconds before I'm
left at the desktop without an error message. I've
downloaded all the latest drivers for my computer, with no
success. The only thing I can think of, is that I've
upgraded to DirectX 9. Has anyone else encountered this
problem?

Have you checked for updates for the game, on their web site?

Did you install the latest *patch* for Black & White? As I recall, it didn't
run under XP (giving the same behaviour you describe) 'til it had the latest
patch.
